Company

The professional dance company of UNABASHED, INC. goes simply by the name UnAbashed. This is a modern dance company yet to be officially established. However our heart is set on building the professional division as soon as possible. It was one of our leading goals behind establishing the school as a foundation of resources.  This summer during our Summer Seekers Dance Intensive we will be looking for candidates for the company. We will also be looking for additional teachers for the school at this time. It is our hope to officially put UnAbashed the company in place by September of 2009. This comes under many determining factors out of our control, but God is the artist here and we say He is in control. He is fully able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen (Ephesians 3:20,21).

We are praying for serious and trained dancers who are passionate, dedicated, euthusiastic, and determined. Depending on donations and sponsorship this may or may not be a paid position at the onset.  At the start we will rehearse 2-3 mornings a week, with class and rehearsal directly afterwards, so Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 9-3pm.  The company will be led by Artistic Director, Eileen Beth Mitchell, whose modern style is ballet based, but also very opposite of ballet; it is strong and loose; it can be lyrical or hip-hop like.  The company would also like to see other choreographers in the mix, as well as some of its own company members setting choreography. The average age of company members will be 18-35, but this is not a limit either way. One must have intermediate to advanced dance training, performance maturity, a strong work ethic, and a desire to stir people towards a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the richness of dance.

God, we ask you, by your Spirit, to bring about a special and anointed group of dancers who will by their dancing open up the heavens bringing down your glory, your might, and your fury. Amen.
